Person
The Holy Spirit is God just as the Father and Son are  (Acts 5:3; John 16:13; 1 Cor. 2:10-11; 3:16-17; 6:19-20; Heb. 9:14).  Also, the Holy Spirit is a person not an impersonal force (Matt. 12:31; John 14:26; Acts 5:3-4; 4:30; 1 Cor. 12:11; Eph. 4:30).

Work
The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring witness to Jesus Christ and to glorify him by showing his disciples who and what he is (John 16:7-15) and making them aware of who they are in him (Romans 8:15-17; Gal. 4:6).

Gifts
The Holy Spirit bestows special gifts on believers according to his will and pleasure (1 Cor. 12:11).  No one has all of the gifts (1 Cor. 12:14-21), and no gift is universally bestowed on believers (1 Cor. 12:28-30).  The Spirit bestows these gifts on Christians for the edification of the body, not for their individual enrichment (1 Cor. 12:7; 14:5, 12).
