I love the optimism that Job expressed in the midst of his pain and suffering (not to mention in the midst of the hurtful and worthless dribble of his “friends”). In Job 19:25, he said…
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.”
Regardless of how bad things might get in our lives, as children of God we ALWAYS have room for optimism, and that’s because our Redeemer lives! And He has promised by the sufficiency of His grace to see us through whatever life throws at us and to use those trials and tribulations to help repair the damage that the Fall did to the image of God within us.
Paul so appropriately wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:16-17…
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.”
